CPC50220 Diploma of Building and Construction (Building)

Overview

Our CPC50220 Diploma of Building and Construction (Building), will give you the opportunity to develop the skills to manage a wide range of building projects. You will learn the principles, regulations and techniques of the building industry for low-medium rise buildings and projects. You will learn how to coordinate the complete construction of a residential, industrial or commercial building and take responsibility for your work.
You will be trained by industry professionals where you will develop specialised skills and knowledge to pursue future employment in the construction business.

Participant Eligibility

An Eligible Participant for this Program

MUST BE:

  • an Australian or New Zealand Citizen or Permanent Resident; or
  • a Participant who has the right to work in Australia on a valid VISA prescribed by Construction Skills Queensland and has been employed in the Building and Construction Industry for a period of 6 months or more, and is
  • an Eligible Worker in Queensland (refer to exceptions), or is
  • an unemployed Eligible Worker who has been unemployed for a period not greater than 6 months in Queensland.

MUST NOT BE:

  • an Apprentice or Trainee;
  • undertaking the Training as part of an Apprenticeship or Traineeship;
  • an Employee of an Authority;
  • currently enrolled and participating in a Queensland secondary school program;
  • a contracted trainer or assessor or existing worker of an RTO;
  • funded by an Authority or such other source for delivery of the same Training being undertaken as part of this Program;
  • enrolled in more than one (1) Skill Set or Qualification at a time under this Program and the Skills Assessment and Gap Training Program which is 1 x Building or 1 x Civil in the same Program period;
  • previously enrolled into the same or equivalent qualification in an earlier Program term.
  • a Participant seeking a Verification of Competency.

EXCEPTIONS:

a Participant whose Employer is part of the Building and Construction Industry, undertaking relevant clerical, administration and professional roles.

Units of Competency

The CPC50220 Diploma of Building and Construction (Building) comprises a total of 27 units, 24 of which are classified as core units and 3 are electives. You must be deemed competent in all 27 units to attain the qualification.
